Epical HealthMed’s Hangover IV drip delivers rapid, targeted relief from alcohol-induced dehydration, electrolyte depletion, toxic acetaldehyde buildup, and inflammation. Unlike time, sleep, or coffee—none of which address the biochemical causes of a hangover—this infusion works at the cellular level to restore fluid balance, regenerate liver detox capacity, and resolve the headache, nausea, and fatigue that follow excess alcohol consumption.
Quick answers
How fast does it...
How fast does it work? Most patients feel significantly better within 30–45 minutes of starting the infusion, with full relief typically within 1–2 hours.
What's in the Hangover...
What's in the Hangover drip? Saline for rehydration, B vitamins, electrolytes, anti-nausea medication (ondansetron), anti-inflammatory ketorolac (optional), and glutathione for acetaldehyde clearance.
Is medication included? Yes....
Is medication included? Yes. With physician approval, anti-nausea (ondansetron) and pain relief (ketorolac or toradol) can be added to the infusion for comprehensive symptom relief.
Is it safe to...
Is it safe to get this frequently? For occasional use, yes. Frequent hangover IV therapy does not replace evaluation of alcohol use patterns if misuse is a concern.
The biochemistry of a hangover
Alcohol is metabolised by the liver into acetaldehyde—a toxic compound more harmful than alcohol itself. Acetaldehyde triggers inflammatory cytokine release, depletes glutathione (the body’s master antioxidant), causes mitochondrial dysfunction, and irritates the gut lining. Simultaneously, alcohol’s diuretic effect causes significant dehydration and electrolyte loss, and its metabolism rapidly depletes B vitamins (especially thiamine/B1). The result is the familiar constellation of headache, nausea, fatigue, and malaise.
What to expect at your session
- Hot flashes, night sweats
- Sleep disruption related to vasomotor symptoms
- Mood changes and irritability (especially when symptoms disrupt sleep)
- Vaginal dryness, discomfort with intimacy, urinary irritation
- Bone loss risk reduction when indicated
What to expect at your session
You can arrive in any state—we will do the rest. Rest comfortably during the 45–60 minute infusion. Anti-nausea medication usually takes effect within 10–15 minutes. Most patients are ready to resume their day or evening by the end of the session.
What to expect at your session
IV saline (1L)
rapidly corrects dehydration—the primary driver of hangover headache and lethargy
Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium)
restores the mineral balance disrupted by alcohol's diuretic effect and vomiting
B-Complex + B12
replenishes vitamins depleted by alcohol metabolism; B1 (thiamine) is especially critical for neurological protection
Glutathione
the body's primary detoxifier—regenerates liver capacity to process residual acetaldehyde and reduces oxidative damage
Vitamin C
supports glutathione regeneration and reduces systemic inflammation
Important considerations
Hangover IV therapy is for occasional use and is not a substitute for responsible alcohol consumption. If alcohol use is causing recurring significant impairment, our clinical team can provide confidential assessment and referrals. Additionally, severe neurological symptoms (seizures, extreme confusion, persistent vomiting) after alcohol consumption require emergency evaluation—do not seek IV hangover therapy in place of emergency care.
Recovery booking and add-on flow
Recovery pages should make the use case obvious at a glance, then move patients quickly toward the right session, timing, and optional support items.

- Recovery-focused listing: present each drip around the real-life need state such as post-travel fatigue, dehydration, or post-party recovery
- Use-case explanation: explain when Recharge is the better fit versus when Hangover is the better fit
- Quick booking option: support fast booking for patients who already know what recovery drip they want
- Suggested add-ons: surface optional boosters such as anti-nausea support, glutathione, or extra hydration when appropriate

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Hangover drip the same as what hospitals give for alcohol poisoning?
Hospital treatment for alcohol poisoning focuses on airway management, monitoring, and basic saline. Our Hangover drip is a wellness-focused recovery infusion for the aftermath of excess alcohol—it includes glutathione, B vitamins, and optional anti-nausea medication not typically given in this context by emergency departments.
Can I get the Hangover drip before drinking as prevention?
Pre-loading with fluids and electrolytes before drinking reduces hangover severity. However, in that case we would recommend the Recharge drip (our hydration-focused build) rather than the Hangover drip, which is specifically formulated for post-alcohol recovery.
Does glutathione in the drip actually work for hangovers?
Yes. Glutathione is the primary detoxifying molecule the liver uses to convert acetaldehyde (the toxic alcohol metabolite) into acetate, which is harmless. Alcohol consumption severely depletes hepatic glutathione stores. IV glutathione replenishes this rapidly, accelerating acetaldehyde clearance far beyond what the liver can achieve on its own.
Will the anti-nausea medication make me drowsy?
Ondansetron (Zofran) is generally non-sedating and does not cause significant drowsiness. It works differently from older antihistamine-based anti-nausea drugs. Most patients feel noticeably less nauseated within 15 minutes without impairment of alertness.
How soon after drinking can I get the drip?
You can arrive as soon as you feel the hangover effects—typically the morning after. There is no minimum waiting period. The drip works regardless of how much alcohol is still being metabolised.
Is this safe for someone who is still mildly intoxicated?
We perform a brief clinical assessment before all infusions. Mild intoxication is managed safely with IV rehydration. If someone is significantly intoxicated or showing signs of alcohol poisoning (confusion, inability to walk, vomiting while semi-conscious), emergency services should be contacted instead.
Can I eat before the session?
If nausea allows. A small amount of bland food (crackers, toast) after the anti-nausea medication takes effect often helps. If you are actively vomiting, wait until ondansetron provides relief before attempting oral intake.
How often can I use the Hangover drip?
For occasional use (once or twice a month), the Hangover drip is safe. Frequent use should prompt a conversation about overall alcohol patterns, as chronic heavy alcohol use causes damage beyond what IV therapy can reverse. Our clinical team approaches this with full confidentiality and without judgment.
